Fire breaks out at recycling centre in Preston

Firefighters were called to the waste fire at a recycling plant in Longridge Road, near Red Scar and Roman Way Industrial Estates, shortly before 9pm.
Crews from Preston fire station found a burning heap of recycled waste which they tackled for around two hours using hose reels and jets.
No injuries have been reported.

Hide AdLancashire Fire and Rescue Service said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
It was unable to say exactly where the fire occurred, but Recycling Lives, which operates a recycling plant in Longridge Road, has been approached for comment.
A fire service spokesman said: "Two fire engines from Preston attended a fire at a commercial address on Longridge Road in Preston.
"The fire involved a large amount of recycled waste. Firefighters extinguished the fire using one hose reel and two jets.

In August 2019, a huge fire took hold of the Recycling Lives plant in Longridge Road, leading to a major response from Lancashire's fire service.
Seven fire engines were deployed with crews working through the night to bring the blaze under control.
Recycling Lives has been approached for comment.
