Firefighters tackled a shed blaze earlier today and now the fire service has launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.

Firefighters were called to a fire on Kimberley Street, Coppull at around 1pm today.

Two crews from Chorley managed to put out the blaze but a spokesman for the fire service said they have launched a probe.

The spokesman said: “Two fire engines from Chorley attended a fire involving a detached shed at the rear of Kimberley Street.

“They used two hose reels to extinguish the fire.

“There was some concern that the fire may have spread to a neighbouring property but firefighters were able to gain access and ensure the property was safe.

“An investigation into the cause of the fire is now underway.”
