Mental Elf Run

Mental Elf 5k Fun Run, Sunday December 4

Chorley-based Lancashire Mind is holding its annual festive 5k family fun run from 11am to 3pm at Witton Country Park, Blackburn.

Family and friends are welcome to enjoy the Festive Market on the inside running track, complete with a visit from Santa. The registration desk will open at 11am, the 5k run will start at noon.

Run entry fee: Adult £17.50; children £12.50

Rainbow House Christmas Fair, Mawdesley, Saturday December 3

Santa will be at Rainbow House, Salt Pit Lane, from 2pm to 5pm. There will be traditional fun with carols, a brass band, mince pies, mulled wine and a tombola, reindeer and Santa.

Leyland Band at Chorley Town Hall, Sunday December 4

Leyland Band presents Festive Brass at The Lancastrian, from 2pm to 4.30pm. Tickets are £10 in advance - patrons £8 - on the door £12. Under 16s are £5 and under 5s free, call 01257 264362.

Lights of Love, Friday December 2

Derian House is hosting its special Lights of Love service at Blackburn Cathedral at 7.30pm. It will feature Christmas music, carols and readings. Admission is free, but tickets must be obtained by calling 01257 271271.

Hoghton Tower Christmas Food and Drink Festival, Saturday December 3, 11am until 7pm, Sunday December 4, 11am until 5pm

Stalls will be selling festive meats and drinks. There will be entertainment and the chance to buy a tree. Entry £4. Under 16s free.
