Croston Fair, Sunday December 11

The fair will be held throughout Croston, with craft stalls at the old school, community centre, church and primary school together with entertainers, food stalls, the Land Train and Santa’s grotto.

'‹The event starts with Santa’s parade from the Village Green at 1pm and ends with the Brass Band leading a torchlit procession to the church at 5pm, with a short carol service.

Chorley Winter Wonderland and Ice Rink

Chorley Council is bringing a 60ft by 40ft real ice rink to the Iron Market. The winter wonderland will also have Christmas market stalls selling food, drink and crafts, a covered seating area and small fairground rides. The ice rink will be open from Friday December 9 until Sunday January 8. Tickets for a one-hour session are £6 for adults; £3 for children (aged 14 and under) and senior citizens, and £15 for a family ticket.

LINK Strictly Dancing, Saturday December 10

The LINK is hosting an evening of social dancing, mod sequence, ballroom, Latin and a touch of modern jive at Chorley Town Hall from 8pm to 11.30pm.

Entry is £6.50 for members and £7.50 for guests.

Hoghton Tower Christmas Craftacular, Sunday December 11

There will be plenty of seasonal and crafty stalls and Santa will be in the Banqueting Hall from 10am until 3pm. Entry is £2 per person, with under fives free. There is a charge to see Santa.

Frozen and superhero breakfast, Saturday December 10

Entertainment with disco and games, a visit from Iron Man and a Princess from Frozen and sing along Christmas songs at Farrington Lodge, from 9am until noon. £14.95 per child.
