Water supplies to homes in Adlington have been affected by a leak - just hours after another leak was repaired.
United Utilities started to receive phone calls at around 5pm yesterday about a water leak on Bolton Road.
It meant that properties in the area either had no water or just a trickle from the taps.
The burst was repaired by 1am - but water supplies to the same residents were hit again by a second leak just hours later.
A United Utilities spokesman said they started receiving calls at around 6am and the incidents were not connected.
There is a leak at the junction of Westhoughton Road and Rawlinson Lane and engineers are on site working to fix the problem.
They expect the repairs to be made by 4pm, the spokesman said.
