A Clayton-le-Woods man stabbed while holidaying in Ibiza has returned home.
Jamie French, 21 – known to his family and friends as Jay – suffered a punctured lung after being attacked with a broken glass bottle in the resort of Playa den Bossa on the Spanish party island.
Jamie (pictured) has now returned home to Clayton-le-Woods after a four-day journey on trains and ferries, because the injuries he sustained meant he was not able to fly.
Taking on Facebook Jamie said: “I’m home and safe. Just like to thank everyone who wrote on my wall. It means a lot.” Jamie’s face was slashed and he injured his hand in the fracas, which reportedly involved up to a dozen Brits, on June 29.
He was rushed to hospital in a critical condition, and his parents flew out to be at his bedside.
Jamie was kept in intensive care for about a month while doctors monitored his condition and carried out tests on his punctured lung.
Speaking from their home in Lancaster Lane, Clayton-le-Woods, Jamie’s father Dave said: “He is back home now, which is the main thing.
“He is up and about and is recovering well. We are just glad to have him back.”
