Ivy on house set alight by bin fire in Euxton

A fire which started in a wheelie bin spread to a home in Euxton, say fire crews.

Firefighters from Bamber Bridge and Chorley were called to the incident on Euxton Hall Gardens at around 6pm on Monday evening.

The fire spread from a wheelie bin to a the wall of a house that was covered in ivy and damaged windows and fascia boards at the property.

A spokesman for the fire service said: "Firefighters from Bamber Bridge and Chorley attended an incident in Euxton where a fire in a wheelie bin had spread to ivy on the wall of a house.

Firefighters pitched a ladder and used a hosereel to put the fire out. No-one was injured. The cause of the fire is to be established."

Firefighters say the cause of the fire is still being investigated.

Nobody was injured during the incident.
