Nursery youngsters got into the spirit of a truly special occasion with a right royal wedding ‘do’.
Up to around 40 babies, twos-to-threes and pre-school children at Croston Acorns Nursery and Pre-School, celebrated the wedding.
The whole nursery took part, dressing up for the party, on Thursday, with prizes for the best dressed.
Hannah Eaves, deputy manager at the Brickroft Lane nursery, said: “It was really good. They had their dinner outside, it was buffet outside in the garden.
“They all got cake from the wedding cake stand. They made crowns in the afternoon. They played party games and all the parents were pleased how good it was.”
On the run up to the big day, children were shown the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on computer; there were wedding displays in the building; and youngsters brought in photographs of their own parents’ wedding.
The outside of the building was decorated by Alison Gill who mum Carol Norris baked the wedding cake.
Dinner consisted of ham and jam sandwiches, pizza, cocktail sausages and sausage rolls.
