Women of Chorley stripped down to their underwear to raise awareness and money for charity.

Inspired by the no make-up selfies online, make-up artist Natalie Proctor,33, came up with an idea to raise money for Cancer Research in a fun and liberating way – for women to attract attention to this important cause.

A photoshoot for a calendar was held at Heskin Hall featuring 11 women from the area.

Ladies posed in their underwear for the shoot.

The calendar has been kept down to as low cost as possible with all pictures being donated free of charge.

The shots were taken by photographer Carol Weyman.

But the fund-raising hasn’t stopped yet.

After taking their kit off once, the women and many more will be doing it again this Saturday when a ladies’ night will be held at Hartwood Hall from 7pm until 12.30am.

The night dubbed ‘Get your kit off to beat cancer’ will see 60 women from the area take their clothes off - down to their underwear - and pose for a picture to raise awareness in a fun and confidence boosting way.

Organiser Natalie said: “All we want to do is raise awareness to make people aware.

“The calendar was inspired by the no make-up selfie pictures taken online.

“Anybody can take their make-up off.

“But we really wanted to go one better and see what people would do when we stood in our underwear and felt exposed.”

Prizes for the ladies’ night have been donated by businesses from the area.

A DJ is also provided and a buffet is available to all people in attendance.

Each lady on the night will pre-order a calendar for £6 and then take part in two group photos.

Natalie, who lives in Great Knowley, paid tribute to the “fantastic” women who will be taking part and praised the help from local businesses.

She added: “I’m really excited about it and I cannot wait for Saturday night.

“There will be so many fantastic people their in attendance, the businesses from the area have been great too.

“People have asked how have I done it getting so many people on board.

“But to be honest as soon as I mentioned what it was for people wanted to get involved and I can’t thank them enough for that.”

Tickets don’t need to be purchased before the night and all people are encouraged to come down.

There are no age restrictions for the event.
