Lucky escape after motorway smash near Chorley
The occupants of a car escaped with only minor injuries after it collided with an HGV on the M61.
The Ford Focus burst into flames after the impact on the northbound carriageway near Chorley last night.
Police said there were only minor injuries, but the driver of the car was later arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
Traffic on the northbound carriageway had to be stopped for a time while emergency services dealt with the incident.
