Commuters were facing traffic misery on Tuesday after a phone box was demolished by a car.
Police were called at 8.25am to Leyland Road in Penwortham, near the junction of New Lane, to reports that a black Nissan Almera had crashed into a phone box.
Officers said the driver didn’t have any serious injuries, but the phone box was “totally demolished”.
Serious congestion was reported in the area as glass was cleared from the scene. Motorists in and around Preston also faced major traffic following an earlier crash on the M6.
