Men in sword and spade fight

two men were taken to hospital after an incident in Chorley involving a samurai sword and a spade.

Police were called to Longworth Street at 7.30pm on Monday, July 11 after reports two men were fighting on the street using the weapons.

It is thought a man struck another on the head with a spade, who then retaliated with the ornamental sword.

Both were taken to Chorley and South Ribble Hospital with minor injuries. On release they were arrested and questioned by police, before being released without charge.

An investigation is still ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
