MISSING: Police search for Lancashire man who went walking in Lake District

Police are concerned about a missing 55-year-old Lancashire man who is believed to be in the Lake District.

Peter Iwantschak, from Chorley, was last seen when he left to go walking in the South Lakes area yesterday afternoon (May 24).

A police spokesman said he had travelled to the area from his home in a silver Toyota Yaris, registration number SV55 WFE.

He is described as a white male, 5ft 9in, of medium build, with short dark hair with greying sides and glasses.

He is thought to be wearing a walking jacket and have a black rucksack.

Anyone with any information or who has seen Mr Iwantschak or the vehicle described above, is asked to contact Police on 101.

Police would also urge Mr Iwantschak to make contact with police or family if he sees this appeal.
