Motorbike rider injured after crash at busy junction

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital after a collision with a van.

The black Suzuki GSF motorbike and Transit van crashed at the junction of Dawson Lane and the A6 Preston Road, in Whittle-le-Woods, this morning.

The ambulance service and police were called to the scene, which was near Shaw Hill Golf Club, at around 8.15am.

They found the man who had been riding the motorbike was conscious and breathing.

He had suspected fractures to the pelvis area and injuries to his wrist and hand.

The man was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital for treatment to his injuries.

Dawson Lane and Preston Road were closed in both directions by the police and reopened at around 10.40am.

No arrests have been made.
