A host of exciting eateries have announced they will be opening as part of the new commercial quarter at Buckshaw Village.
A top sandwich company, Indian eatery, an Italian restaurant and a tapas bar have all signed up as part of the £6m scheme to give villagers more for their buck.
Subway is the biggest name to be confirmed, while popular Italian restaurant Tiggis and a tapas bar will also be taking up residence.
Shanti Lounge, the Indian takeaway and food lounge, will be owned by Chorley Cricket Club professional Gaurav Dhar.
This will be Mr Dhar’s first Indian establishment – but he doesn’t have to look far for any help.
He said: “My dad will be mentoring the restaurant for the first couple of months with me.
“He has owned Indian restaurants and takeaways in the area and in London, so it’s nothing new to him.
“He is the best person I can ask for help and he will always be there if I need him.”
Mr Dhar says he welcomes the competition from the other establishments and believes his business will thrive in the bustling area.
He added: “It’s excellent all these firms are coming to Buckshaw and especially in the commercial quarter.
“We can only benefit from this because people won’t just come to the one restaurant.”
Eden Park Developments is behind the ambitious scheme in Buckshaw, while Eckersley Property has been involved with the surveying and marketing of the area.
Mark Hickman, of Eckersley Property, said: “Each occupier has signed a 10-year lease, and each unit is nearly full, so it is an exciting time for Buckshaw Village.”
Craig Lee, from the Buckshaw Village Community Association (BVCA), is full of praise for commercial quarter and thinks this development can only mean good things for the village.
He said: “This is exactly what Buckshaw needs.
“There are a lot of houses up and now shops and restaurants are being provided.
“I can’t wait until things open and more people come to the area.”
