New shop aiming to raise cash for local dementia nurse

The shop will sell preloved clothing, accessories and shoes, along with some toys, books and restored furniture.

The aim is to work with charity Dementia UK to recruit a specialist Admiral Nurse, providing support free of charge for local people living with dementia and their families.
Caring Hands Group chairman Greg Bamber said: “Dementia can be a devastating condition, but when families are empowered with the right information and have access to appropriate support - whether that’s ensuring someone is taking the right medication, offering social support, or providing practical advice on issues such as benefits or housing rights - people can enjoy a good quality of life, and that is what we are trying to help people achieve through the foundation.”
Mrs Kennedy said: “It is great to see community efforts to raise funds for such an important cause.”
