A two-time Olympic gold medallist will appear at a charity event organised by an inspirational four-year-old.

Retired swimmer Rebecca Adlington will be the main attraction at a sponsored swim event hosted by Rosanna Ogden.

The sponsored swim is being held at the David Lloyd club in Chorley on Saturday August 16 and is in aid of the British Heart Foundation.

A barbecue, live music and raffle tickets are all part of the entertainment from 5pm-8pm.

Little Rosanna, from Adlington, had open heart to remove a tumour when she was just eight weeks old.

And her mother Sanam is delighted with how the event is coming along.

She said: “I’m really pleased that Becky Adlington will be attending the sponsored swim.

“Rosanna is a really big fan of hers and they have met before, when she sees her on television she cheers and chants her name. Everybody has been excellent in helping organise everything, Yorkshire Tea and Uncle Joe’s have both provided free prizes and David Lloyd have allowed us to use the pool for free.”

More than 150 swimmers are needed to make a splash and if you are interested you can contact Sanam by emailing sanamogden@gmail.com.
