A free family event is being held starring children’s favourites Ben and Holly.
The characters, from Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom, will be guests of honour at Chorley Council’s annual Picnic in the Park on June 2.
It will be held in Astley Park from 12 noon until 5pm.
Council leader Coun Alistair Bradley, said: “The Picnic in the Park has been a popular event for Chorley residents and this year we are aiming to make it the best one yet.
“There’s a lot of excitement about the Bank Holiday weekend to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee and we hope as many people as possible will join us in Astley Park for what promises to be a great day.”
Attractions will also include some imaginative street theatre and musical performances, the opportunity to tour Astley Hall, lots of sports activities including everything from rugby to football, Olympic taster sessions and much more, plus the special guests.
Coun Bradley said: “In previous years we’ve had thousands of people enjoy a picnic in the park and we hope with the feel good factor around the long Bank Holiday weekend we will see even more people attend this year.
“Put the date in your diary and don’t forget to tell your family and friends about it.”
