Lancashire's SPAR stores donate to foodbanks

Here are this week's charity champions - June 6 2019

From food donations and bucket collections, the community has been working hard to support good causes.

Here is what people have been doing to help raise funds for charities.

Heartbeat member John Thimmaya  raised 155.69 by asking his local pub The Army and Navy on Meadow Street, Preston to collect loose change in a collection tub in the bar.

Members of Ashton and Lea Golf Club donated 4,641 pounds to St Catherine's Hospice following a series of fund-raising events.'The club was also given 200 pounds from Asdas green token scheme to add to their total.

Burnley Community Kitchen will now collect food donations in eight SPAR stores across Burnley, Pendle and the Ribble Valley. SPAR is run by James Hall & Co, based in Fulwood.
