The sprawling Grade-II listed manor, located just a mile from Bamber Bridge and Leyland, has been sold to North West businessman Colin Shenton who intends to make the country mansion his private home.
Built in 1717, Cuerden Hall had been a private family home for nearly 200 years before it was put to use as an infirmary for injured soldiers during the First World War.
Since 1985, the stately home has served as Sue Ryder Neurological Care Home, until residents were moved to a new, state-of-the-art facility in Fulwood earlier this year.
Earlier this month, businessman Colin Shenton said that he had bought the manor and revealed plans to return it to its original purpose as a "magnificent family home".
Before his team of architects begin work to restore the mansion to its former glory - with renovation costs estimated at around £15 million - Mr Shenton invited the Post for an exclusive tour inside the historic Hall.
