Petrol spill mystery in Coppull

Kyra Kneale posted on Facebook: “Just a heads up - just travelled down Jolly Tar Lane and there appears to be a large amount of oil or petrol on the road. Drive carefully.”

However a spokesman from Lancashire County Council said that the road had in fact recently been resurfaced.

He said: “What people think is oil or diesel is actually a rainbow effect which happens when the new tarmac gets wet – so nothing to worry about.”
