Strips of willow were transformed into hen and cockerel sculptures in a willow weaving workshop.

Nine people got their hands on the willow in the full-day session at Brinscall Hall, on Dick Lane, Brinscall.

It was led by master willow weaver, Phil Bradley, who showed people how to make the large sculptures step by step.

At the end of the day, they could take the sculptures to put on display in their garden or homes.

Avril Cairncross, from Brinscall Hall, said: “Phil’s courses are always really popular.

“They came away with quite big things that looked really impressive. Even the people who hadn’t done it before come away with a really professional finished piece.”

Brinscall Hall is an educational charity offering a range of courses.
