Police hunt van in beauty spot smash
Police are appealing for a van driver to come forward after a cyclist was knocked off her bike at a Lancashire beauty spot.
Officers say the 52-year-old woman was found lying on a grass verge near the entrance to a car park at Anglezarke by a cycling companion. She had suffered a fractured collar bone and has no memory of how she came to be on the ground.
The incident happened just before 3pm on Saturday when the woman was out cycling with a friend in Moor Road, Rivington.
Officers are trying to trace a white Volkswagen Caravella van with black alloy wheels which was seen in the area around the time of the incident. It is described as having a partial registration of ‘65’ with stickers on the rear, one of which said ‘Martin’ in green letters.
PC Glen Hilton said: “This van was seen in the area around the time of the incident and the driver could have some vital information that could assist us with our enquiries.”
Contact police on 101.
