Police warning over ATM machines after security '˜compromised' in Lancashire

Lancashire Police is warning people not to use any Santander ATMs in the county after a security problem.

The force issued a message on Twitter this morning stating: “Security at Santander ATMs in Lancs has been compromised. Advice is not to use them. If you have lost money please contact the bank and 101.”

Santander has been unavailable for comment on the issue.

An officer later added that machines had been targetted with a range of devices.

Last week Lancashire Constabulary announced that it had been contacted by several people worried about suspicious activity at Santander cash machines – mainly in the east of the county, but a report was also made about the machine in Clifton Street, Lytham.
