Maria Hampton, from Preston entered her picture of a hawk, whilst Barry Hough, of Chorley, for the Wilko Wild Bird Calendar competition. They were both awarded the prize of a £100 Wilko voucher and selected as one of 12 winners to be featured in the official 2019 calendar.
Maria said: “I was delighted to discover I had won the Wilko Wild Bird photography competition and my photo would be used in the 2019 calendar. I captured this beautiful bird at Brockholes Nature Reserve and I was so pleased with the photograph. Winning has really boosted my confidence in my photography.”
Barry Hough said: “I have just gotten back into photography after 20 years and chose this photo because of the detail in the robin’s feathers and drops of rain. I couldn’t be more pleased.”
Neil Fairhurst, Pets Buyer at Wilko, said: “We were stunned with the number of entries and quality of the photos.
“It was a tough decision as there could only ever be 12 winners, but we were extremely impressed by Maria and Barry’s photos.”
