Sadness over children’s play centre closure

A children’s play centre has suddenly shut down - leaving parents worried about their youngsters’ party bookings there.

Mystery surrounds the closure of Pharaohs in Adlington.

The Egyptian-themed play, party and ice arena on Westhoughton Road opened seven years ago.

In a Facebook message posted on Sunday, the centre said:

“Dear Customers,

The Pharaohs Team would like to thank all its customers for a brilliant seven-year run.

“Unfortunately, all good things have to come to an end and as of today, Pharaohs will no long be trading.

“Customers who have bookings with us, will be contacted directly, with a full refund and a possible solution to hosting your booking


“Thank you all again, Hope to see you all in the future.

“Kind Regards, The Pharaohs Team”.

People replied in their scores with messages of ‘sadness’ and ‘devastation’ about the news.

“We were treated well, got great value for money, were always met by friendly staff and the kids loved it every time. It was always clear you worked hard when catering for events. Much love to you all and wishing you the very best for the future.”

Jill Gaskell wrote: “So sorry to hear this. My girls have gone there ever since it opened, have had birthday parties there and we have all been to the excellent New Year’s Eve parties for the last 3 years.

Pharaohs opend seven days a week and attractions inside included speed slides, tube slides, missile aim, mummy and snake pits, climbing wall, multi-play levels and sports zone.
