Coronation Street actor Sean Ward will switch on Chorley’s Christmas lights this year.

Sean, who played Callum Logan, will do the honours on the Market Street stage on Saturday, November 14.

The 27-year-old actor was in the top soap for the last year and has only just left the show after his character was killed by Kylie Platt.

Organised by Chorley Council, the Christmas lights switch on festivities will start at 3.30pm - with the big switch on scheduled for 6pm.

There will be a Christmas market along Fazakerley Street and Rock FM will get the party started on stage with another great line-up of amazing performers, including X Factor’s Misha B.

Additionally, there will be performances from up and coming acts including, singer Chris Atkinson and girl band, Distracted.

Deputy leader of Chorley Council, councillor Peter Wilson, said: “We can’t wait to see the Christmas lights sparkling across the town centre again and we’re absolutely thrilled that Sean Ward who was the star of Coronation Street’s recent live episode, will be coming to Chorley to do the honours.”
