Arley Homes’ Duxbury Manor development in Chorley is proving to be a winner, in more ways than one.

With an average of more than 50 visitors every weekend, and only five of the first 45 properties still remaining, the development is already a hit with buyers as a location of choice in Chorley for families.

Now, following a competition run by the Duxbury Manor sales advisors, one lucky visitor has hit the jackpot after winning £500 just for stepping through the showhome doors.

Colin Hookham was surprised and delighted to find he’d been first out of the hat after entering a free prize draw during his viewing of the stunning Westminster showhome.

Mr Hookham, age 67 from Adlington, toured the beautifully landscaped development looking for new homes to recommend to his son who is considering a move back to Chorley from Northumberland.

During his visit, the former motor mechanic dropped off the form which would secure him the win.

He said: “Being a local and knowing the area I thought this location would be ideal for my son and his family as it’s a really nice area near the park and has got good schools, and it is only a mile or so from my house so would be great for me too.

“He works away so I’ve been looking round new homes in the area but I hadn’t been very impressed so far as some of the developments look a bit tightly packed and like they’re not going to age well.

“A friend suggested I go and look at the Arley development and I was pleasantly surprised.

“It’s a bonny looking place and looks like it will be nice for families. I particularly liked the Westminster house as it has lots of space and was bright and airy, so I picked up the brochure for my son and dropped in my entry at the same time.

“I couldn’t believe it when I got the call to say I’d won, £500 is a very welcome treat and I’ll have to think carefully about what I’m going to spend it on.”

Mr Hookham is not the only visitor to be impressed and only a few of the first phase remain available to buy.

Interest is sure to remain high in the remaining properties, with buyers now also reserving homes in the next phases and some potential buyers even pre-registering for information on the future phases of homes, set to come to market later in the summer.

Duxbury Manor has a huge selection of spacious family homes in a beautifully landscaped development near to the A6 and Duxbury Park, with good links to the M61 and M6.

Tastefully landscaped public areas include wildflower and woodland planting to enhance the countryside aspect and the overall appeal of the development, and a children’s play area.

Built in Arley’s timeless, classic, style, all properties are spacious and designed with families in mind.

From a chic three-bedroom townhouse to an elegant five-bedroom detached, all have two off-road parking spaces, plus garages and gardens, and feature a range of classic design touches such as brickwork detailing and traditional eave edging.

Modern energy efficiency and carbon saving measures come as standard, while additional eco benefits will include energy efficient boilers, water saving taps and toilets, and modern insulation which can help to significantly reduce household bills.
