Other answers revealed by the survey by Wilcox Limousines that weren’t counted amongst the top ten included tractors, specific vehicle types, motorcycle hearses, and even a wheelbarrow.

Paul Wilcox from Wilcox Limousines said: “As experienced funeral vehicle coachbuilders we like to think that we know a thing or two about the transport needs of these occasions. But the unconventional nature of some of the requirements on our list certainly raised a few eyebrows in our office.”

He concluded: “Even though there are a few eye-openers here, funeral directors are fantastic at taking it all in their stride. There really are few professions where people will go to such lengths to accommodate customer requests. Respecting somebody’s last wishes means that funeral directors often go far and above the usual call of duty. Our research reveals just some of the idiosyncrasies that they’re able to work with – we’re sure that there are far more out there.”
