Disruption on railway line near Wigan after staff sickness
Train services in the Wigan area were being cancelled or delayed today owing to Network Rail staff sickness.
The line was closed between Huyton and Wigan North Western in both directions this morning.
Network Rail said it was a result of staff sickness.
Trains were being cancelled, delayed or diverted and replacement coaches were being arranged.
The lines were reopened at around 10.25am.
