The cows' behaviour was 'udderly' baffling

The unruly herd 'hoofed' it to Rivington services on the M61 at around 1am where they caused 'udder chaos' on the petrol station concourse.

They were later seen surrounding a cash machine prompting police to wonder whether they were in fact "cash cows."

Officers attempted to reason with the beefy troublemakers but it went in one ear and out the 'udder'.

Police denied they were on a 'steak-out' and later contacted the farmer of a nearby field to arrange the return of the bovine bandits.
