A Chorley firm is paying tribute to an employee who died just two days after giving birth by raising money for her baby son.

Lisa Parkisson, 35, died in June while still in hospital following the birth of her first child, Zac.

She worked from her Oldham home as a sales agent for, part of World Travel Holdings, on Moorland Gate Business Park, off Cowling Road, Chorley.

Determined to honour Lisa’s memory the company is raising money for a trust fund set up for baby Zac.

Kate Holroyd, head of marketing, said: “Lisa left behind such a tiny little baby boy. She was well loved here. She was great at what she did and was a fantastic customer champion. It really struck a chord with a lot of people here and the feedback was that people wanted to do something.”

Earlier this month, a fund-raising party was held at Bolton Whites Hotel, at Bolton Wanderers’ stadium, which raised more than £1,100 for Zac. As part of the event, the firm launched the Lisa Parkisson Award for Customer Service in her memory. It was won by Rebecca Peacock, 24, a product executive.

Lisa’s colleagues will continue to raise money, with a family fun day at Coppull United’s ground on Sunday. There will be a football match between Coppull United and a team from, from 1.30pm.
