Fallen tree in Chorley closes A6 Preston Road in both directions

The A6 Preston Road in Chorley has been shut in both directions due to a fallen tree.

The A6 Preston Road in Whittle-le-Woods, Chorley, has been closed in both directions due to a fallen tree on the road.

The tree fell between Dawson Lane and Moss Lane near BP Garage at around 4.40am today (February 11).

There has been no vehicle or pedestrian access as a result.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police Tac Ops said: "A6 Preston Rd, Whittle-le-Woods, Chorley is currently shut in both directions due to a fallen tree.

"Lancashire County Council have been contacted.

"There is no vehicle or pedestrian access."

The 125 bus service is being diverted due to the closure of the A6.

The service will be diverting via Buckshaw Village and Dawson Lane until further notice.

Traffic is coping well, according to the AA.
