Lane closed on M61 following crash near Chorley

Emergency services rushed to the M61 northbound between junctions 8 (Chorley North Link Interchange) and 9 (Clayton Brook Interchange) following a collision which occurred at around 11.40am today (November 13).

One lane was closed as a result of the crash, but Highways England have now confirmed all lanes have reopened.

It is not yet known if anyone has been injured in the collision, but paramedics and fire crews were sent to the scene.

A spokesman for Highways England said: "The M61 northbound J8 (Chorley A674 A6) to J9 (Brindle M65). One lane has been closed due to a collision.

"Traffic Officers and Lancashire Road Police are currently at the scene. Recovery and North West Ambulance Service are on their way to the area to assist."
