Overturned lorry closes motorway sliproad near Chorley

An overturned HGV has closed a motorway sliproad near Chorley.

The lorry is stranded at junction 6 of the northbound M61 at Horwich.

The incident happened just before 7pm this evening.

Highways England said: "The M61 northbound entry slip road at J6 is currently closed due to a collision. Traffic Officers and Maintenance Crews are currently at the scene, Recovery are on their way to the area to assist."

They later tweeted: "Jacknifed LGV has resulted in #M61 northbound entry slip at #J6 closed until recovered."

AA Roadwatch said: "Entry ramp closed due to accident on M61 Northbound at J6 A6027 De Havilland Way (Horwich). Traffic is coping well."
