Taxi hits tree after skidding on black ice in Chorley

The driver and his passenger escaped the wreck without injury after the car skidded into a patch of woods at the junction of Collingwood Street and Stansted Road at around 10am.
It is the second car to lose control on the same icy bend today, after another car skidded on black ice earlier this morning.

Max temperatures of around 1° are expected until 4pm, when temperatures are set to dip below freezing with lows of around -2° forecast for the rest of the day.
