World Travel Holdings UK is increasing its number of employees by 50 per cent following recent success in the cruise travel market.

It will see the number of people working for the firm, which is based on Moorland Gate Business Park, off Cowling Road, rise to 150.

Founded by local resident James Cole in 2008, more than 80 per cent of the firm’s employees live in the Chorley area.

James said: “Having lived in Chorley since I was 11 years old attending Parklands High School in Chorley, Runshaw College in Leyland and studied for my MBA at UCLan, it is with great excitement that we can significantly increase our employment of local people in the Chorley area. Our recruitment need is mainly in our sales team where we look to take on people of all ages who have a positive attitude and are keen to succeed.”

Working closely with Runshaw College, James’ company has also offered eight students the opportunity to work in the travel industry during the summer break.

Earlier this year, World Travel Holdings UK opened a second office in Southampton, to site some staff closer to the heart of the cruise industry.

However, the majority of employees will work in the Chorley head office.

The new jobs available in Chorley as a result of the expansion are mainly in sales and customer service, due to the growing number of people who want to book cruise holidays.

World Travel Holdings UK has a number of travel brands and new recruits will be working on the Cruise118, Six Star Cruises and River Voyages brands.
