Your Preston weekend weather forecast: Warmer days ahead with frosty nights

Signs of summer months are upon us as Preston is expected to enjoy the sun this coming weekend.

And people are expected to be enjoying the newly opened beer gardens and restaurants this weekend, following a busy week in the city centre.

Although mornings will be frosty, with temperatures dipping to a cold 4C, the days will soon warm up to a reasonable 15C - perfect for some al fresco dining.

For the rest of today, April 16, there will be sunny intervals throughout before the sunset at 8.15 pm, which will see temperatures drop into the night.

Tomorrow, April 17, will start off much the same, with sunny intervals throughout the morning and a dry day ahead.

After another cold night, with temperatures dropping to around 4C, frost will be expected on Sunday morning, which will be a little cloudier but will dispel into sunny spells into the afternoon, with highs of around 13C.

Today, Friday, April 16

A frosty start with morning sunshine. Patchy cloud developing through the afternoon, with coastal areas retaining the most sun. Dry throughout with light winds and feeling pleasant in the sun. Maximum temperature 13C. It will be dry overnight, with the patchy cloud gradually breaking during the evening to leave lengthy clear spells. Cold again, with light winds and a frost.

Saturday, April 17

Staying dry on Saturday, with early sunshine before patchy cloud develops again. Feeling warm in the sun but another cold night will follow, with frost possible. Maximum temperature 15C.

Sunday, April 18 into the new week

Dry with sunny spells again on Sunday. Cloudier on Monday with a slight chance of rain in the northwest. Cloudy with patchy rain on Tuesday. Nights becoming milder.
