ROYAL wedding fever hit the streets of Chorley and South Ribble today as hundreds of people held parties to enjoy Kate Middleton tying the knot to Prince William.
People in the area went wild with flags, bunting and even dressed in their Union Jack shirts to join in the national day of celebration.
At the Chorley Little Theatre on Dole Lane, the Guardian helped to stage a public screening for old-age pensioners to enjoy the festivities in London and even talk about previous royal big days.
There were nine street closures across Chorley so people could hold street parties for the wedding,
They included: Ashdown Drive and Cyclamen Close in Clayton-le-Woods, Briar Avenue and Gleneagles Drive in Euxton, amd Rotherwick Avenue, Springs Road and St Gregory’s Place in Chorley.
Meanwhile, there were events staged in Leyland on Hillbrook Road, Hedgerows Road and a Royal Navy Party on Towngate Road.
