Hilda Miller, who travelled the world as president of Chorley’s Soroptimist Club, has celebrated her 100th birthday.
Hilda and her late husband Stanley, a successful motorbike dealer who also won a string of trophies for his motorbike racing, lived together in Bagganley Hall, near Botany Bay.
The house has since been demolished to make way for the M6.
Mum to Margaret Thomas and Michael Miller, and also a grandma and great-grandma, Mrs Miller has been a member of St Peter’s Mother’s Union for almost 75 years, and was also a leader of St George’s Guides.
As president of Chorley’s Soroptimist Club, she travelled to places such as Hawaii, America, Turkey and South Africa as their representative.
She now lives at Westwood Care Home in Chorley, and celebrated her special birthday with friends and family at Café Ambio in Astley Park.
