Wind-damaged Preston bus station to fully reopen
The western side of the bus station facing Tithebarn Street and the city centre had been closed since eight large panes were dislodged during high winds in November.
A structural survey recommended that window frames needed to be repaired to allow new glass to be installed, and this work is now finished allowing the bus station to reopen on Wednesday.

Hide AdPhil Barrett, director of community services, said: “We’re sorry for the inconvenience of recent weeks, and grateful for the co-operation of passengers and operators which has allowed services to continue despite the need to close part of the bus station.
“We’re glad to be able to reopen the bus station following the repairs, and are looking forward to refurbishment works due to start in the spring as part of its wider redevelopment.”
