A brilliant double century by Luis Reece has boosted his chances of a long-awaited Lancashire first team call up.
The Leyland professional’s 201 not out against Durham second XI this week was the first double century by a Lancashire second XI player since Chris Schofield in 2003.
And Fox Lane skipper Dave Makinson said he would be delighted if his colleague finally got the first-team nod, even though it could mean Reece would be missing from the Fox Lane duties.
Makinson said: “His selection could of course cause Leyland problems, but it’s one that we would welcome.
“Obviously we are all delighted for Luis, hopefully he will get his chance in the 1st XI soon and show what he can do.”
