Charnock Richard require just 15 points from their remaining eight league fixtures to claim another West Lancashire Premier Division title after a fine 3-0 victory over fourth-placed Longridge Town.
Goals from David Burrows, Mark Woods and the evergreen Andy Roberts helped Charnock take all three points against Lee Ashcroft’s side.
A bumper crowd of 138 turned out to watch the game as the previous meeting earlier in the season saw the sides draw 3-3.
As early as the third minute, Charnock registered their first chance on target, but Longridge keeper Ellis Hawksworth stood tall to block a Roberts effort at the back post.
Jonty McDonald fired a shot wide of the post for Longridge before Charnock took the lead in the 15th minute.
Carl Grimshaw sent a pinpoint cross into the box and on hand was Burrows, who swept the ball past the onrushing keeper.
Lennie Reid struck an effort across goal for Longridge.

The second half saw Hawksworth turn a Jamie Sanderson shot over the bar before Reid shot wide.
With 20 minutes remaining, Woods scored an all important second for Charnock as he finished well into the corner.
And the game was put to bed in the 79th minute, when Sanderson rattled the bar but Roberts swept up the rebound.
This Saturday, Charnock play hosts to bottom side Thornton Cleveleys (3pm kick-off).
