Chief executive officer Dave Riche has stepped down from his role at Chorley FC with immediate effect

Riche took the position at Victory Park in the summer of 2017 as the operational leader of non-footballing activities at the club.

The former AFC Fylde and Fleetwood Town employee was forced to apologise last month after being caught in a social media storm

He shared a photo 'fat-shaming' two sisters, who were snapped from behind in Blackpool and posted it on Instagram.

The post said: “Blackpool on bank holiday Sunday! #nowordstodescribe.”

Riche was reprimanded by the club's board of directors, but remained in position.

Chairman Ken Wright added: “After being part of our team, we’ll definitely miss him, but at the same time we look forward to the season ahead with our staff behind the scenes. It’s been a real pleasure working with Dave and we wish him every success moving forward.”

On leaving Victory Park he said: "I'd like to thank Ken, Graham (Watkinson) and the board for giving me this opportunity and I wish them all the best for the future."
