Chorley will be looking to build on their solid results over Easter when they make the trip to AFC Telford United tomorrow.

The Magpies picked up four points last weekend, drawing 1-1 at York City and then beating Bradford Park Avenue 2-0.

Matt Jansen’s men sit just outside the National League North play-off zone and a win over Telford at Bucks Head will be a real boost ahead of the final run-in.

Although hosts Telford sit at the other end of the table, Chorley boss Jansen expects a tough game in Shropshire.

Jansen said: “Any team near the bottom of the league will be fighting for their lives at this stage of the season.

“There are so many teams who can get drawn into the mix.

“It will be a difficult game, every game is tough whether you are playing someone at the top or at the bottom.

“If we put in the type of performances we did against York and Bradford, we will give ourselves every chance.”

Easter Monday’s win over Bradford Park Avenue came in difficult conditions, the region having been lashed by rain that day.

Marcus Carver and Jason Walker were on target, the victory very much deserved according to Jansen.

“We beat a very good side, Bradford Park Avenue are just below us in the table and very much in the mix.

“Before the weekend I asked for strong characters and that is what I got.

“We’ve got a good team spirit here and that can take us a long way.”

Magpies skipper Andy Teague called the victory over Bradford as a ‘team win’.

The experienced defender believes repeating that over the coming weeks can carry the play-off chasers a long way towards their target.

Said Teague: “Our two strikers scored and we kept a clean sheet.

“So it was a team win, with everyone playing their part.

“If we keep a clean sheet we will always give ourselves a chance because we are a side who create a lot of chances.

“With seven games to go, we have got to look forward to them all. There are still going to be lots of twists and turns until the end of the season.

“We go out there looking to get something.

“Around us in the table I think everyone has got to play everyone. We fancy ourselves, we have just got to beat the teams around us and hopefully the other teams will beat each other.”
