Chorley boss Garry Flitcroft expects a tough game tonight against inconsistent Trafford.

The Magpies are on the road again after thrashing Worksop 4-1 at the weekend but Flitcroft doesn’t think tonight’s fixture will be an easy one.

He said: “It’s always a tough game away at Trafford.

“I went watching them against Fylde a couple of weeks ago and they knock the ball around well so we are going to have to press them and get in their faces.”

But Flitcroft is delighted with the way his side are currently playing.

He added: “We are looking good at the moment and are full of confidence and I think we can beat anybody in this league.”

The ex-Manchester City midfielder was pleased with Saturdays win over Worksop Town and was impressed with the way his side dealt with going behind to a sloppy goal.

He said: “We started off poorly with the mistake Sam Ashton has made.

“But after that all credit to the lads we played some good stuff and scored some good goals.

“I told the lads not to panic when we conceded early and we have goals in our side so it was important not to get frustrated and we needed to keep positive and I new we would score goals.”

Flitcroft reserved special praise for midfielder Dale Whitham who bagged an excellent goal but again singled out James Dean for his tireless performance and he thinks the side just need to get him that goal he deserves for the striker to kick on.

He said: “Dale can finish and it was a great goal.

“He is a good player but now we will miss him for three games due to suspension.

“I feel sorry for James Dean.

“He works so hard for us and we just need to get him that goal.”

Flitcroft was delighted for frontman Josh Hine who

continues to impress despite an adductor injury.

He added: “I was pleased for Josh Hine and he scored two good goals again

“He is a finisher and I just wish we could get him fully fit.

“He is still very raw but he has pace and strength.”
