Garry Flitcroft is targeting four or five new signings ahead of the 2015-16 Conference North season.
The Magpies came agonisingly close to sealing back-to-back promotions on Saturday.
But a mad second half saw Chorley throw away a two-goal lead and eventually come up short in the play-off final,
losing 3-2 against Guiseley.
A trio of enforced substitutions impacted Chorley game plan and questions could well be asked about of the Magpies’ strength in depth.
But refusing to single out any of his players, Flitcroft admits he will assess the squad over the coming days.
“I’m going to have a sit down and have a real good think,” said the Chorley boss.
“I’ll assess the team and I’ll see what I need, we may need four or five new lads, but we’ll just wait and see.
“I think the three changes killed us, we were outstanding in the first half, but when you lose three of the back five in the space of 15 minutes, I just think it really hurts you.”
Chorley captain Andrew Teague, full-back Paul Jarvis and goalkeeper Sam Ashton all hobbled off injured.
Flitcroft was left to rue the enforced changes but he felt the loss off Teague particularly hampered the team.
“They had two big lads up front and when you don’t have somebody like Andrew Teague at the back, it makes it hard,” he said.
“It was a real killer for us, he’s solid and a real leader
“But overall, we can all be proud of our achievements. The squad has give me absolutely everything this year.”
