Freezing temperatures threaten Lancaster's fixture at Nantwich

The Dolly Blues are due to face the Dabbers at 1pm – the game has been brought forward to allow fans and players the opportunity to watch England’s World Cup quarter-final clash against France later that evening.

However, it could well be that the game is postponed with sub-zero temperatures expected across the UK.

If the match does go-ahead then it’s one which City will be eager to get something from as they could see themselves being leapfrogged by the Dabbers with both teams just above the drop zone albeit the league table is extremely tight at the moment.

"I think we will go to Nantwich with plenty of confidence,” said boss Mark Fell.

"Nantwich have had a big change this year with the manager David Cooke leaving in the early part of the season.

"They have a new joint-management structure but there is an inconsistency about them, but they have got some good players there.

"It’s generally a place that we haven’t got a lot of points from although we won there last season.”

• The Dollies in the Community (DITC) have worked with the LCFC Media team to create an activity pack for school children across Lancaster and the local area. The book includes quizzes, puzzles and games for all young Dolly Blues.

The packs will be distributed to six schools and around 2,500 pupils. The books also contain free season tickets, win a mascot opportunity and £10k in discount vouchers for parents.
