Rampant Euxton Villa showed their clinical edge, thrashing lowly Vickerstown 7-1 in the Premier Division of the West Lancashire League.
Greg Johnstone continued his excellent form scoring a hat-trick whilst there was a brace of goals for Ash Ball.
Fullback Sam Bolton and captain Ryan Thompson also got on the scoresheet.
Dave Round was the Vickerstown goalscorer.
In a one sided encounter at the Jim Fowler Memorial Playing Fields, Villa opened the scoring in the 13th minute.
Former Bamber Bridge striker Johnstone heading home from inside the area.
The front-man doubled his tally and Villa’s lead two minutes later before Round reduced the deficit in the 36th minute.
Ball opened his account for the day shortly after the interval and Johnstone sealed his hat-trick in the 58th minute converting from the penalty spot.
Thompson scored in the 65th minute before Bolton and Ball found the net in the 84th and 86th minute.
The win has left Villa in fifth spot, five points of league leaders Charnock Richard.
It was a day to forget for Coppull United as they were thrashed 5-1 by Blackpool Wren Rovers.
Carl Eastwood scored four for Wren Rovers whilst Max Landless got the other.
Tom Entwistle scored a consolation goal for Dave Haughton’s men in the 89th minute.
The defeat has left Coppull third in the table.
Andy Westwell’s Charnock Richard went top of the Premier Division table after a convincing win against Thornton Cleveleys.
Alex Randall, David Burrows, Mark Adams and Jack Bennett were the scorers for Charnock.
Luke Noble was the Thornton goalscorer.
Thornton saw plenty of action in the opening stages as Harry Rowe headed over.
At the other end, Adams and Burrows were causing problems with their pace.
Charnock opened the scoring in fortunate circumstances, Randall whipped in a corner which went straight through the hands of goalkeeper Mark Smith and in.
‘Keeper Gavin Bates made a fine stop to thwart Noble and soon after Charnock doubled their lead.
Spen Bibby played through Randall who in turned found Burrows and the front-man made no mistake in beating Smith.
Both sides spurned chance until three minutes before the break, Adams’ shot rebounded off the bar and dropped over the line.
One minute later, Thornton pulled a goal back as Noble slotted under the body of Bates.
Noble was again thwarted by Bates whilst Carl Grimshaw tested Smith.
Late on, Bennett added a fourth with a smart finish from the edge of the box.
