Chorley Ladies returned to winning ways, dumping Tranmere Rovers out of the League Plate Cup.
Vicky Coope and Jennifer King were the Chorley scorers in a 2-1 victory at Euxton Villa.
Chorley had recently defeated defeated Tranmere 4-0 in the league, but were wary of the organisation and strength of the Wirral team.
The opening half saw little goalmouth action, with most of the play happening within the centre third of the pitch.
Jo Phillips kept Tranmere at bay with some excellent acrobatic saves whilst Coope spurned a chance early on.
The second half started slowly, with both teams having chances to take the lead.
Chorley soon took advantage of Tranmere’s missed chances when Natalie Parry headed through for Coope to lob the onrushing ‘keeper.
Against the run of play, Tranmere hit backwith a goal of their own.
Late on, Jenny Wooten crossed for King and she finished well to seal the win.
l Euxton Girls had four home games on Greenside on Saturday morning and in glorious weather the setting could not have been better.
The Under-9s West defeated Euxton Villa 9-0 whilst the Under-9s North thrashed Academy Juniors 8-3.
There was a stalement between the Under-11s West and Wigan but there was joy for the Under-13s as they defeated Rainford Rangers 5-0.
The Under-14s beat Dynamo Rangers 2-0 but the he Under 10s, who lost 9-0 away at PNE, are looking for a goalkeeper.

The Under-15s West lost 6-4 against Cadley and the Under-12s defeated Lytham 3-2.
